• Position requires 3 - 5 years of experience working with toddlers in a licensed child development facility.
• Candidates with an AA degree in Early Childhood Education or who are pursuing an AA degree are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Candidates with a current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with an Infant/Toddler endorsement or who are enrolled in a CDA class are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Applying the principles of early childhood education and implementing current evidence-based instructional approaches and best practices.
• Developing and implementing lesson plans, in collaboration with the Pre-K teacher, that are engaging and promote active learning.
• Adapting teaching methods and materials to assist in addressing the interests and learning styles of children.
• Supporting, tracking, and documenting children’s developmental progress and using the information to guide instruction and learning activities that help them reach critical developmental milestones.
• Assist in the completion of ASQ for each preschool child within 45 days of their start date and providing feedback to the parents/guardians.
• Conducting parent-teacher conferences to include developmental activities that can be implemented at each child’s home.
• Supervising children and adhering to health and safety protocols/procedures.
• Serving a principal role in helping GAP achieve optimal performance [e.g., a minimum overall score of “5” on the annual Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS)].
